The Problem with Society Elections in India
Every year, thousands of housing societies, RWAs, and colony committees across India face the same headaches when it's time to elect their chairman, secretary, treasurer, or maintenance committee. The old methods — show of hands, paper chits, or Google Forms — all have serious flaws:
❌ Old Methods – The Problems
- Show of hands — not private, creates pressure
- Paper ballots — slow counting, dispute-prone
- Google Forms — needs internet, not private
- WhatsApp poll — publicly visible to all
- Manual counting errors lead to arguments
- No tamper-proof record of the result
✅ EVM Mock Poll App – The Solution
- Private — each voter votes alone on the phone
- Instant automatic counting — zero errors
- Fully offline — works in any community hall
- Password-locked results — no early peeking
- Shareable WhatsApp result — transparent proof
- EVM-style legitimacy — everyone trusts it

Key Features for Society & RWA Elections
Password-Protected Results
Only the society secretary or election officer sets the password. Results are completely hidden until the end — no mid-election peeking, no manipulation.
Bluetooth Controller Mode
Two phones — one stays with the election officer (Controller), one is passed to each voter (EVM). Mimics a real polling booth setup for AGM elections.
Up to 12 Candidates
Perfect for society elections with multiple candidates contesting the same post — chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, and committee members.
Candidate Photos
Add photos of each candidate from the phone gallery — so voters can see the face of each resident they're voting for. No confusion about who is who.
Share Results on WhatsApp
After the election, share the results bar chart directly to your society WhatsApp group — instant, transparent, and contestation-proof.
Hindi + English Interface
Switch between Hindi and English — ideal for societies in Delhi, UP, MP, Rajasthan, Bihar, and across the Hindi belt, as well as southern cities.
Works Offline
No Wi-Fi or mobile data required. Conduct your entire society election in the community hall basement, terrace, or garden — wherever members gather.
Beep + Haptic on Every Vote
Every vote is confirmed with a beep and vibration — residents know their vote is registered. No re-voting confusion, no disputed votes.
How to Conduct a Society Election Using This App
Here is the complete step-by-step process for a housing society AGM election using the EVM Voting Machine Mock Poll app:
Before the AGM – Install & Prepare
Download the app on one (or two, for Bluetooth mode) Android phones. Collect candidate names and photos beforehand. Charge both phones to 100%.
Open App & Add Candidates
Enter each candidate's name. Upload their photo from the gallery or choose an emoji symbol. Set the election title (e.g., "Society Chairman Election 2026").
Set the Result Password
The election officer (society secretary) sets a private password. No one else should know this — it prevents early result peeking during voting.
Pair with Controller Phone (Optional)
For Bluetooth mode: pair the EVM phone with the Controller phone over Bluetooth. The EVM is passed to voters; the Controller stays with the election officer.
Begin Voting – One Member at a Time
Call each flat owner or member one by one. Hand them the EVM phone. They press their chosen candidate's button — a beep confirms their vote. Take back the phone.
Close Voting & Reveal Results
Once all members have voted, the election officer enters the password to stop voting. The results screen shows a live bar chart with vote counts and winner.
Share Results to Society WhatsApp Group
Tap Share and send the results image directly to your society WhatsApp group. Every member — present or absent — gets the result instantly.
✅ Pro Tip for Bluetooth Mode: Use the Bluetooth EVM + Controller setup for maximum credibility. The election officer keeps the Controller phone and can see who has voted. The EVM phone is passed to each voter for private, individual voting — exactly like a real polling booth.
Society Election Scenarios – Which Mode to Choose?
| Society Size | Recommended Mode | Setup |

| Large (60+ flats) | 📡 EVM + Controller Mode | Two phones, designated voting area. Secretary manages Controller, volunteer manages EVM queue. |
| Multiple Posts | 🗳️ Direct (Multiple Rounds) | Run separate election sessions for each post — Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer — one after another. |
